Was ear picking a job?



In these days, you perhaps use some cotton buds for cleaning your ears. But it will be sure that ear picks work most. Then, when did Japanese start to use them? They say it was in Edo era. At the time, Takahashi Tonan was the first man who use ear picks to clean ears. And those days it seems there were some workers who cleaned ears by trade, as they were called Mimi-aka-tori. Even now, you can find them in other countries of Asia, like China.
