Now people mostly use lighters for ignition and few Japanese are used to strike matches. But it doesn't mean matches have wipen out. Visiting a grave in Japan, you will see people use matches. Well, around Himeji-shi in Hyogo, they have produced 70 - 80 percent of all matches made in Japan.
