What can V.O. or V.S.O.P. mean?

Some of Japanese sake companies have made Japanese brandies, named V.O. or V.S.O.P. It originally means very old or very special old pale.
But in Japan, whatever can be named so because there are no management organizations to regulate how to make alcohol. In France, the name has value but does not have in Japan. Ingredients of most of Japanese brandies are not open to the public.
So customers cannot know the identities and ingredients.
