Some might not have tasted but everybody would have heard the name in Japan. Kirin Ichiban means, as the name, it is made from just the wort firstly pressed on the beer production process. So the original taste of malt, simple taste is had.
In passing, wort pressed after the process is called Niban Shibori; means second press. But pilsner beer made from just Niban Shibori is never seen in Japan.

Will it be because of the pure savory taste? Kirin Ichiban is, exported, on sale and of good repute in several countries over the world like Germany, a beer-growing center. It's a singular example of Japanese beer.
