About our introductory articles

“Furei” is a sake product brewed and produced by Umetsu Sake Brewery in Tottori. That is also called “sake of cheering” because its name came from “Hurray.”

It is supposed Tottori is not considered as a district famous for sake brewing. Actually, in all the prefectures in Japan, Tottori was the 43rd about the sake producing amount according to research of the National Tax Administration Agency in 2013. The research said Tottori only produced 716 kl a year though the 1st, Hyogo 133,866 kl.

If there were a lot of competitors near, the total quality can be destined for growing up naturally. Not a lot, it is supposed the group is difficult to develop and evolve. Based on the old logic, some may say good sake cannot be brewed in Tottori.

However, like an example in the Galapagos Islands, creatures could uniquely evolve at the district with no competitors. That is so in sake breweries since “Furei” tastes and feels so unique.

You may feel kind of difficult to be familiar with at the first drink. But you can get along with the uniqueness. “Furei” will be your good partner at the time, then.
