About our introductory articles

Married life, it causes a lot of joys and troubles because an unrelated couple lives together under some determinate contracts.

Saying it is just similar to cohabitation, you probably know nothing about married life or you are extremely lacking in sense of responsibility. Marriage is also an agreement contracted between two families. That is to say, the two have to own socially authenticated relationship. You make out or get upset? In any case, a series of Sekirara Kekkon Seikatsu, meaning the naked married life, written by Kera Eiko can let you find pleasure in marriage.

In the series, Tsuma gets married with Otto and they live their married life comically. Tsuma means a wife. Otto means a husband. Kera Eiko plays Tsuma herself. Namely it is essay manga.

You have recently found a lot of essay manga books about married life at Japanese book stores. This series is their originator. Sekirara Kekkon Seikatsu, the first of the series was published in 1991. Throughout the series, their life of 1990s is mainly written by Kera Eiko.

Time order of the story is 'Tatakau Oyome-sama' -> 'Sekirara Kekkon Seikatsu' -> 'Issho-ni Super' -> '7-nenme no Sekirara Kekkon Seikatsu', but you can start reading from any because the main roles are just the two, Otto and Tsuma and it seldom seems something continuously goes on.

In the manga, Kera Eiko shows their ordinary but kind of laughable scenes like the two excitedly calculate the total amount of congratulatory presents after their wedding ceremony, like Otto cannot have a dinner because he was absorbed in PC and made light of Tsuma, and like Tsuma arbitrarily arrange their books on a bookshelf and get NG from Otto. However, it is not that she just shows how happy they are or proudly boasts of their married life. Surely it functions as essays and as manga.

More than anything else, what makes charm in this series is ordinariness of the two. Any readers can replace the ordinal two with readers themselves. They are neither the couple after an immoral love affair nor who have got over scenes of extreme carnage. They neither did international marriage nor married among TV personalities. She shows real events of a commonplace couple in Japan.

Who have been married, who try to be married, who feel like marrying, and who are interested in real situations of married life, the manga series deserve reading to various people.
