About our introductory articles

Hello, everyone. Today, I'm picking up "The Awful Father" written by Agawa Sawako.

First, let me explain who Agawa Sawako is. She is a Japanese famous TV personality, an interviewer, and a writer who was born in 1953. For a long time, she had spent her life as a spinster, but got married in 2017.

Second, I have to tell you who "the Awful Father" is. It points her father, Agawa Hiroyuki. He was a Japanese well-known author born in 1920. He passed away in 2015, his daughter Sawako wrote about him. It is "The Awful Father."

Before the death, he told Sawako "Some editors'll probably induce you to write something about me after I go away. But nothing's more disgraceful than that the author's families give high praise to the author in essays. Sawako, kick off their inducing." Sawako said O.K.

Sawako keeps the faith. She actually wrote about her father, however, it describes how awful he was. How? I'd like you to check the contents by reading actually.

Reading "The Awful Father" made me know why she didn't get married though looking kind of beautiful. The awful father'd indirectly made her so.

Of course, it does not mean that the great author longed to keep his daughter all the time. The essay says he really desired to give her in marriage when she was attaining marriageable age. She didn't get married somehow, however.

I believe his awfulness and great undertakings built the walls around his daughter before they knew. Sawako was always afraid of her father as described in the essay. It's considered that the fear had kept her away from loving somebody straight unconsciously. Moreover, Hiroyuki was a popular author. Usual men were difficult to make an approach to her, feeling a great shadow.

This is just my opinion, not what she said. Anyway, she could get married after the awful father passed away in 2015. Congratulations!
