About our introductory articles

I believe reading a biography makes two effects. One is that the readers can feel the bygone times they have never experienced. Another that you can get different values you have never got. Effect of reading "Looking for Butterflies," a autobiography of Koiwaya Satoshi must be the latter.

I'm sure he is unknown among most of the usual. He would be famous among the ones related with something about insects. Koiwaya is a butterfly master who had joined Tokyo University although he'd longed to learn nothing around there. So he decided to be a dropout for living by collecting butterflies he had been fond of since his childhood.

Needless to say, you cannot live by just collecting insects. I'd like to do if possible. He had lived by selling insect fanciers the specimens. In that point, Koiwaya might be like Horie Takafumi who left Tokyo University for establishing a company in college. Koiwaya already retired after doing it about 3 decades. He has found over 70 kinds of new butterfly species.

He comes from Miyazaki. "Looking for Butterflies" is, actually, a compilation of his autobiography essays serialized in Miyazaki Nichinichi Shinbun from July 5 to November 6, 2012. Admirable is the ballottement of the compositions after all. You will be surprised and fascinated at his episodes even if you are poor at butterflies. His attitude based on his values must sway you emotionally.

Many including you must be belonging to an organization in order to be alive. They make you work and give a part of yours like time, values and autonomy. Instead, you can get some money. That is never supposed to be denied by anyone itself as long as it doesn't make any trouble. A part of yours that you cut down, however, might moan somewhere and sometimes become your fear.

I'd like you to look at Koiwaya's life, when you're tortured by the moaning. It doesn't mean that I tell you to become a butterfly master, of course. I know his life is too hard to be spent by usual people. However, like sympathetic vibration happens because every material has each peculiar oscillation frequency, it might cause a resonance between his life and a part of yours. His values, then, probably can get in concert with the moaning that tortures you.

However, for fairness, I must say it might be a temptation of the evil who just has a single ticket for you.
