About our introductory articles

“Nikkei Business” is an economic magazine published by Nikkei Business Publications; a subsidiary of Nihon Keizai Shimbun,Inc. That must be supposed to be unfamiliar because hardly set at the book stores, but sold directly by subscription. Japan Audit Bureau of Circulations says that it has a large circulation, around 200,000.

We can say it is a runner who departed later than its rivals like “Weekly Toyo Keizai,” because they started after the World War 2, in 1963. Probably for the brand power of Nikkei, however, it has sold most among Japanese economic magazines. (According to Japan Audit Bureau of Circulations)

Nikkei Business July 27, 2015 issue

To speak frankly, it is the magazine which chooses the readers, worth selling directly. Except economy freaks and the students who desire to overreach themselves, it is supposed “Nikkei Business” gives nothing interesting to part-timers and usual office workers. They would perhaps get confused if read by accident. It thoroughly contains economic accounts for financiers and business persons, in other words.

Now, let me present the contents a little. Let alone the feature articles, they introduce golden sayings by prominent figures and mention about companies with unique management strategy.

I guess it all depends on whether you believe or doubt Nikkei group. Let me say in passing that Taniguchi Tomohiko, Councillor, Cabinet Secretariat, had worked once as a journalist in Nikkei Business. He is today famous as an important speech writer of Abe Shinzo.
