About our introductory articles

Some may guess it is a Japanese movie title, “My Partner’s Had Depression.” (Tsure-ga Utsu-ni Narimashite) is an essay comic written and illustrated by Hosokawa Ten-ten, a Japanese female manga writer.

As the name shows, her husband has been depressed and happened to have to quit his job. Finally, the depressed man tried attempted suicide. But his wife tightly supported him to live on. That is an essay comic describing the couple.

Usually, it might be a goal for women to marry a male steady who decently works. However, this essay seriously tells you it is only a castle of sand. The depressed husband used to be a super worker. No one knows what the future holds.

This should be read by all people, especially, teenagers who have never been any workers. No problem when adults take, needless to say. But I believe it is very important for everyone to understand what depression is before getting into society.

Like mentioned in these stories, there are still many out-of-date people in our society, who don’t understand what depression gives, cruelly saying “You are weak-hearted and get depressed. It is all owing to nobody but you.” No way to act against such a heartless social condition. So youngsters should carefully consider how they go in that world, before putting themselves to a heavy sea.

You are difficult to live easily no matter how hard try, because we are always with our mind. We could make provision, however.
