About our introductory articles

Hi-Chew is a popular fruit-flavored chewy candy produced and launched by Morinaga & Company. And that candy tells us how important its name is.

Mostly, we tend to choose things named positive words rather than negative. It seems that is not connected to his or her thinking way. On shopping, we tend to get a thing of high quality, not low quality.

What? It is natural? Yes, of course. However, natural things are too natural to be found. In order to produce a hit product, we structurally need to comprehend why it is natural. Hi-Chew tells so.

They firstly released Hi-Chew candies in 1975. It is said the first flavor was strawberry.

Why did they title Hi-Chew? Japanese were in the middle of period of high economic growth at that time and were all heading for hope at full speed. Morinaga & Company would have liked people to have a hopeful impression from the new chewy candy. And then, they decided to name it Hi-Chew from high-quality and high-grade.

Not just the name. In taste and touch, Hi-Chew also has given us a fine feeling. They have released many kinds of flavors, over 130 types like apple, blueberry, orange, and watermelon and the like.

It is on sale and popular all over the world as Paula Creamer, an American female pro golfer, has said “I like Hi-Chew most in all sweets.”

Why not try Hi-Chew? It is a chewy candy of highness.
