About our introductory articles

“Phoebe” is a kind of beauty rode by adults who can enjoy cycle life, which is produced by Dobbat’s.

After working at Toyo Frame in Osaka and at GT Bicycles in the United States, Saiba Takayoshi established a bicycle brand named Dobbat’s in 1987. They have recently built in Owari-asahi, Aichi.

Amongst the lineup, “Phoebe” is introduced as a bike you can enjoy for a long time, by Saiba. He says it is an item for adult riders.

That was born about 10 years ago. Their official web site tells you it allows of nobody under 30 years old. That is just a joke and “Phoebe” is highly wanted also by people in 20s, not just by ones over 30.

On their frames, Dobbat’s has kept on using 41xx steel because they say it is easy to process, and it makes riding comfort and high quality. We mostly use aluminum or carbon for bicycle frames late times. History of over 100 years flows in chromoly, however, and it looks sharper than other elements like carbon. That should give the young some freshness.

“41xx steel has ripened and tastes so fine” said Saiba who honestly loves chromoly. That does not mean he is trying to look down upon other elements. He says Dobbat’s is very compatible with 41xx steel.

As long as it is made-to-order, “Phoebe” cannot be without its owner. Saiba says they are always heading for a beautiful silhouette which matches with the rider in riding comfort, color and everything.

When you want to enjoy your bicycle, not just speed, “Phoebe” will wait for you as a partner of your beauty.
