Was the origin of Meissen porcelain made in Japan?



Meissen porcelain is representative of Western white porcelain. It is a general term of porcelain made in Meissen, Germany. White porcelain were originally imported to Japan in 16th century. Japanese white porcelain like Imari were introduced and exported to Europe in 17th century. The beginning of Meissen was, they say, to copy Japanese white porcelain.
