Joss sticks, it is necessary on Buddhist service in Japan. Originally the biggest producing place had been Sakai-shi in Osaka until the beginning of Showa period. Since the middle of Showa, Awaji-shi in Hyogo has replaced. Recently they have produced about 70 percent of the domestic total amount of joss sticks there.
