About our introductory articles

We have a lot of templates for teacher’s stories, like a Great Teacher from a motorcycle gang, a beautiful female teacher who is in love with her stupid schoolboy, a hot-blooded teacher who tries to rehabilitate his crazy students and so on.

The craziest story of a teacher among them is being illustrated and written by Matsui Yusei. Yes, you know, that is “Assassination Classroom” serialized in Weekly Shōnen Jump since July 2012.

What is crazy on the manga? Looks? Or that title? Above all, the plot has never been seen in other tales. The story begins at class 3-E at a junior high school. And the students try to make an attempt on life of the teacher.

If you are deeply being in love with our common sense, that explanation will make you frown at once. You may say “The manga is completely contrary to our public order and morals, and so they should stop publishing.”

Let me ask you to remember. “Assassination Classroom” is a Japanese gag strip. Please shut up your saying “Assassination means a gag? Are you being out of your mind?” Gags always include some kind of violence, like you know how comic backchat goes on. It tastes sort of fun that another meets kind of tragedy. Common sense is important, but not an absolute truth.

Naturally, you are going to get why the students are assassinating their teacher on the read. And then, you will smoothly enjoy.

“I love royal roads so much. Then, I use an eccentric plot for making a royal road brighter” said Matsui Yusei, its author. The students grow up in their assassination. Somehow, you have felt kind of catharsis and excitement after you read “Assassination Classroom.” That shows high quality of the manga as a gag strip behind blindness by our common sense.
