About our introductory articles

"Kakushigoto" is a Japanese manga written by Kumeta Koji. I suppose he's kind of famous as the author of Sayonara, Zetsubou Sensei. He's written "Kakushigoto" in the Monthly Shonen Magazine since 2015 December.

The main character Goto Kakushi works as a manga artist. Hearing this, you might think that it must be regarded as representing the writer Kumeta Koji.

In the volume 1, Kumeta officially denied it. He said he never looked like Goto Kakushi. In other words, he describes with startling reality, which might make you think so.

Goto Kakushi has a daughter Hime. It looks like a motherless family. He's kept his job from the daughter. Why? He believes that he has to keep it secret. Why?

Kakushigoto means a secret in Japanese launguage. Why does he keep it from his daughter? Reading actually takes you to the right place. This manga mainly deals with the relationship between manga artists and the public, I suppose. This indirectly describes the Japanese public and our sense of value, in other words.

Don't be afraid. There're lots of gags, not only serious scenes. Kumeta Koji won't leave you behind. Being easy, you can bit by bit get close to the center of the mystery.
