About our introductory articles

From the beginning of 2020 to the middle of 2021, Kuwata Keisuke had a series of his essays on the Weekly Bunshun (Shukan Bunshun) published by Bungei Shunju-sha. Then 2021 October, they released the book "Unbearable Things About A Pop Singer" that contained the whole of the series.

Who is Kuwata Keisuke? you may ask. He is the Japanese popular vocalist who belongs to the Japan's rock band Southern All Stars. They made their debut in 1978, have released a lot of hit songs like Tsunami and Bohbo No.5 in these 4 decades. As a solo singer, debuted in 1987. I believe you are mostly hard finding the Japanese adults (over 30 years old) who have never heard songs of Southern All Stars or Kuwata Keisuke at all. It means he is nothing but a Japanese pop singer. No doubt about it.

Then what did he write as an essayist? Totally it contains 66 essays of him, I am difficult to tell you what the theme is. However, I believe they will tell you what he is, if you can get what's written in Japanese language. In other words, the book can probably prove that he is nothing but a man. We tend to guess that pop stars are different from general masses. And the essays tell you how he did really in the world covered by fear of Covid-19. You will feel him closer after reading, I believe.
