About our introductory articles

Maya Mineo is a Japanese male manga artist well-known for “Patalliro!” He had also written and illustrated his essay manga “Devoted Parent’s Diary.” (Oyabaka Nisshi) That describes about his family.

Naturally, the main roles are played by the Mayas. Parents are Maya Mineo and his beloved wife, Yoshimi. Two children are Marie, 2 years elder sister and Mao, younger brother.

They together belonged to elementary school at the manga’s beginning. It means the comics describe how Maya Mineo grew up his kids. So you can enjoy if you have your family.

What makes me declare you can enjoy is that the manga was written by Maya Mineo who created “Patalliro!” a landmark in Japanese gag comics. Not only that, of course, it describes something amusable, sorrowful and mysterious (it will not happen on singles that an iron pipe is somehow put at a room) that parents with kids would meet, in gag and marvelous tempo.

However, children grow up and get to belong to high school, which let them go out of their parents’ sight. The two latter comics hardly mention about children, therefore. A fictional character, Patalliro appears instead.

Different charm comes from the latter two which include precious records like his essays about jewelry and the unique way Maya Mineo has created his works. As memoirs of his maturity, they will let you have fun. Maya Mineo is deeply fond of her wife and his two children. So his family members never disappear there.
