About our introductory articles

If you had to choose a good gate for the Japanese mystery novel world, I recommend a whodunit "Solve the Mystery after Dinner" written by Higashigawa Tokuya.

Everyone needs a nice entrance which correctly leads them to the next roads. "Solve the Mystery after Dinner" can become the one, because you can speedily read the short stories like a PC with a RAM upgrade.

It includes the two main characters. One is a new policewoman, Hojo Reiko. She is the only daughter of a millionaire, but keeps it a secret. Another is her butler, Mr. Kageyama. His true name is all hidden. Kageyama hears Reiko talk about a case that she is in charge of, and can reason inside his brain like an armchair detective.

Hojo Reiko often goes bored with Kageyama's nasty tongue. However, she really respects his reasoning skill. The two gets to face many cases together.

As mentioned above, you can read easily. So you should not want anything like an authentic mystery. That is a good entrance for beginners of Japanese crime novels, however. I desire you to use the stories in order to step nicely for a next one.
