About our introductory articles

“Weekly Playboy” is a weekly magazine for men in 20s to 30s, having been published by Shuei-sha since 1966. Used to inform about many kinds of topics like fashion, travels, foreign situations, it is no more such a general magazine. Today that magazine publishes something about domestic politics, pin-up girls and the like.

You don’t have to use your head for reading “Weekly Playboy,” because there are almost foolish articles. Don’t you say “what is the magazine existing for?” When some male workers completely get tired for their jobs, read the trifling magazine smoking cigarettes or playing pinballs. On the other hand, you don’t have to try to read if were socially aware.

Weekly Playboy August 31, 2015

Some perhaps guess magazines have a round with their contents, although televisions and radios depend on their sponsors, and their issues should be better. However, their pin-up girls are almost members of the 48 group like SKE48, AKB48, on “Weekly Playboy.” So it is easily expected that there is some collusion between the magazine and Dentsu*, the largest advertising company in Japan.

* Quick Japan Vol. 87 (Ohta Shuppan inc.) reports that Dentsu has backed the 48 group up a lot behind the scenes for their prosperity.

It should be supposed that the magazine never include true journalism, because there is some collusion between the largest advertising company and them. According to Japan Magazine Publishers Association, its circulation was about 194,000. (April - June, 2015) Let me say what I said again. When some male workers completely get tired for their jobs, read the trifling magazine smoking cigarettes or playing pinballs.
