Speaking of the knitted, you must think of knitwear like caps or pullovers. Not stereotyped like those, Mokely has ever broadened the knitted into art. Mokely is a brand established and which has been developed by Toki Tomoko; a Japanese knitting artist.

The brand started in 2002 and has freely been in knitting action. She has knitted not just clothes however also big objets like chandeliers or so. Sometimes Toki Tomoko improvises knitted items to music and it is called knitting performances.

Tomoko worked as a graphic designer belonging to a company when she was younger. She unintentionally knitted in her private time and was completely absorbed in. From the time on, she kept knitting and her knitted items gradually were sold or displayed through her friend. Then a name of brand was needed and Mokely was established.

All items by Mokely have been created by Tomoko for this decade. Her free expressiveness and imagination make us feel undying vitality, originality and some kind of fangs.

Her knitted art works have transcended computation and equations, so their shapes and feels can be full of unique and creative charm.

Like in Paris, the knitted works by Mokely have been displayed overseas. Now she bases her knitting action on United Kingdom and p2g; a gallery in Tokyo, with doing child care.
