Hello. Today I'm telling you what Hoto is. Hoto, it is the local dish of Yamanashi prefecture belonging to the main island of Japan. In Yamanashi, they boil thick flour noodles and some vegetable slices with miso soup. It is Hoto. And you have to eat before it gets cold.

Is it udon? you may say after my explaining. No is the answer. In Yamanashi, it is said udon and hoto are different enough. They have recognized so. In those days, they used to have original recipes of hoto by family there. How to make hoto was something to inherit in Yamanashi. But today they say people mostly have ready-made hoto at restaurants or supermarkets. Industrialization called standardization.

Anyway, hoto helps you so much when it is cold, needless to say. And winter is here in Japan now. Yamanashi people will have hoto a lot in this winter again, I suppose.
