Hello, everyone. I'm so glad to see you here with me. Today, I'm talking about Ryukakusan Cough Drops. Have you ever heard Ryukakusan? No? Yes? Anyway, I'm mentioning about it now.

First of all, I have to explain about what Ryukakusan is. They are a pharmaceutical company since the Meiji era. They were officially founded in 1871, established as a company in 1928. Over the borderline, many trust them as their drug are called Heavenly Drug in China.

Why did a pharmaceutical company have to produce sweets like cough drops? you might wonder. I guess the question is reasonable. Actually, they had been for a long time just a pharmaceutical company. However, eternity can come to nobody, nothing.

The cough drops were first set at stores in 2011. What happened in the pharmaceutical field around 2010? I believe many things happened and many reasons went on there. Then I found a hypothesis. In fact, OECD called on Japan to spread generic drug more in 2009. In 2000's, Japan happened to have an aging society. It naturally goes to exert pressure on health care cost of Japan's government. So OECD called on.

It's supposed the recommendation shocked the pharmaceutical field. Nobody predicts how much generic drug can spread actually. However, it certainly changes something and never returns everything. Can't be optimistic about the situation.

Ryukakusan has produced generic ones since 1990's. But they had a sense of danger. Appeal to the general people, or will be torn to ribbons. That made them develop the cough drops. This is my hypothesis. Today I heard that the drops are loved by many people who use their own voices for work like narrators and vocalists.
