Today’s Soup a song by Oizumi Yo, a Japanese actor and a TV personality, with Stardust Revue was released in March 2004. The song got No. 10 on Weekly Oricon Chart in Japan. Ahead of publishing the usual version of the CD, the version of Hokkaido was released in Jan. 2004. Oizumi Yo sings as a lead vocalist in the version of Hokkaido.

How come on the earth he released the CD?

‘Cause as professing himself to be the Soup Curry Ambassador, he has loved soup curry which became a fad as a specialty of Hokkaido during the first half of 2000s. The dish is characteristic because of its ingredients, like the meat and the vegetable, cut into relatively larger pieces.

There is an instant curry soup for the soup curry, produced by him. It is Soup of Today’s Soup Curry manufactured by Bell Shokuhin an old food maker in Hokkaido, and it has been on sale since Oct. of 2004.

You can choose what the ingredients are; to put it the other way you have to do some cooking although that is instant. Prepare the ingredients as you like and mix them with this soup already made hot. Then you can have with rice. As coriander, laurel, nutmeg and the like, various types of spice and chicken bone broth make it very delicious. With that, you easily enjoy the taste of the north islands of Japan. That is Oizumi Yo all over.

By the way, he has also released an essay book Today’s Soup Curry in 2006.
