Suika Bar is the Japanese cut watermelon shaped ice pop produced by Lotte. Suika means watermelon in Japanese language. The ice pop first appeared in 1986 Japan. Do I have anything about those days? I was born in 1984, was just a child, 2 years old at the time. No way to have! When did I meet Suika bar? I cannot get the date now.
Big Suika Bar
Why did they decide to produce such a cut watermelon shaped ice pop? you may ask. I heard some countries had no idea about the fruits. Watermelons are very popular in Asia like China, India and Japan. Every summer, you can easily find them at supermarkets in Japan. So no mystery that they decided to launch cut watermelon shaped ice pops at all.
If you have eaten watermelons, you know we don't eat the seeds. At least, we Japanese people usually remove them while eating. Then why do the ice pops include seeds? They should produce cut seedless watermelon shaped ones! Hey, you don't have to be afraid. The seeds are just chocolate chips, you will eat in safety.
