Hello, everyone. Today I'm here to talk about "Sweet Potato Tart That Farmers Made." In Japanese language, it is "Ohyakusho-san ga tsukutta Sweet Potato." Ohyakusho-san means farmers, tsukutta does made. Do you know? I suppose you haven't heard it before, since I guess there are few Japanese people who have had. And now I'm introducing here.
First, most people (probably) don't know what sweet potato tart is. It is one of Japanese confectionery that is said to have been developed in the Meiji era. In Japan, they call it Sweet Potato. English people will mostly associate a kind of potato when they hear sweet potato. However, Japanese people usually call sweet potato "Satsuma-imo." And then Sweet Potato means a confectionery to Japanese persons.
The Sweet Potato Tart is made by Choi, the farming company in Tokushima, Shikoku. Tokushima is a popular prefecture for the production of sweet potato. The Tokushima farmers mainly produce Naruto-kintoki (a kind of sweet potato). They use it for making the tart, needless to say.
