■ Breweries have to go just along the course in Japan. Then, Japanese micro brewries cannot spead
their fields, it means.
A: No places for selling their products. It never means they can freely develop.
■ Natually, usual customers never recognize what local beer is, sir. There are online sake shops...
A: We have some problems on the web. There is an official rule that says a web shop sells a microbrew but
they cannot sell any major beers if the online shop was capitalized at 50,000,000 yen or below. So Amazon
and Rakuten can treat major beers. However, minor online stores never do like them.
■ It points they cannot take a well-selling line...
A: It is difficult to run any way. What I have done is to manage craft beer pubs for letting the usual
know and enjoy local beer. I guess it is truly the best way. And I have kept actions to increase the pubs
like Popeye.
■ You have done all for the owners?
A: I have held some events to display our favorite microbrews each other, not asked breweries exhibit
their beers. There are some microbrews on local exhibitions of the products, aren't there? I am never
interested in the events like the local exhibitions.
■ Since that must be a jumble of wheat and tares?
A: Yes. I say, it is really difficult supplying real delicious beer at the events like that. To begin
with, there are only about ten percent that can create fine microbrews in Japan. We can hardly get the
genuine ... Never found in Western Japan, ha-ha.

■ What is true local beer, sir?
A: Firstly I think it is an Americal style which deeply shows its indivisual taste. Born completely
different from the old styles, Americal microbrews have spread in a minute and got to the European
continent so fast though I see actions for protecting traditional beer in United Kingdom.
■ Revolution in beer. However, you cannot find the style which sets a high value on individuality, in Japan...?
A: Around 1994, the beginning of Japanese local beer, Japanese volunteers went on a tour of inspection
for brewing in Japan.
■ To America?
A: They should have been to U.S. But they went to Germany for a prejudice which tells them Germany is the
home of beer. So they created nothing but beer of the German style at the beginning years. After a while,
some went to USA but it was too late. Recently, we have seen some micro breweries have made a study of
the American style and they are fine today.
