Hello. Today I'm talking about the Mamiya Brothers, the film directed by Morita Yoshimitsu. It was based on Ekuni Kaori's novel "Mamiya Brothers," appeared in 2006 May. They got close to 300 million yen for the box-office takings. The main characters are the two brothers performed by Sasaki Kuranosuke (older) and Tsukaji Muga (younger). They were born in Shizuoka. The two are very close, live together and enjoy their life in Tokyo though they are in their thirties.

Their world looks already completed. And it is so hard for others to enter. The two have no steady, are of course unmarried. One day, younger brother plans to hold a home party inviting two beautiful women. The party is held in safety. However, it cannot go well somehow. The world of the Mamiya brothers is too solid to let anyone come in. And others cannot find any reason to enter, first of all. "Alright." said younger brother to his older one. "Let's live together on good terms." Their mother (performed by Nakajima Miyuki) shows kind eyes for her clumsy sons.

What on earth matters? It looks they have no power to get out of their world. Is it wrong? They are (probably) happy inside the wall of their world. The film will give you a strange aftertaste.
