Hi, everybody. I'm really glad seeing you here with me now. Today I'm talking about Trick the Movie 2. As the 2nd of the Trick Movie series, it was released in 2006 June.
What? Why do I take the 2nd, not the 1st? And you have never known at all what Trick is? I see, and am explaining now.
What is the Trick? It was first out as a TV drama in 2000. Yamada Naoko (starring Nakama Yukie) is an unsuccessful female magician who lives in an old flat. She looks so beautiful but too poor to pay her rent all the time. One day, Yamada happens to be familiar with a haughty physicist Ueda Jiro (Abe Hiroshi). He always says, at mass media, that we have no mysteries since science can solve every wonder. Then, from all over Japan, many people come to his lab and discuss mysteries in their hometowns or those who use something mystic like some witchcraft with Ueda. He goes to a lot of places with Yamada for solving the mysteries.
What awaits the two there? Can science truly say that every wonder is just a trick?
Why does Ueda go with Yamada? you might wonder. He is, in fact, too timid to go alone. So he always makes plausible excuses and lures her out. Some may say that Ueda must be in love with Yamada in reality. The answer is blowing, blowing in the wind.
Why do I take the 2nd, not the 1st? In fact, it made the biggest hit among the four of the Trick Movie series. They say it is the movie with box-office revenue exceeding 2 billion yen. Why did it become such a big hit? I suppose that it is a better entrance of the Trick series than other 3 Trick films. Watching Trick the Movie 2 takes you to the right place even if you know nothing about the Trick. It is supposed that you are (kind of) difficult to enjoy other 3 films enough unless you get what Yamada and Ueda are before. Elimination makes me say it is the best entrance.
