The opening song is From the Icy Reaches; the same as the album title. It makes us think of the chilly desolate place of somewhere in north. And also through the album, the atmosphere seems to be. By the way, the song is the theme song of Nankyoku Tairiku (Antarctica), a Japanese TV drama aired on TBS in 2011.

If all Japanese female singer-songwriter tried to express human's strength and weakness, Nakajima Miyuki would be No.1.

In this album too, she expresses weakness, strength and various feelings of human in her unique way to view and sing. For example, on Tapir or Really Crazy About You, we will be able to find it out.

Through From the Icy Reaches, some karma in living as a man and making up mind against the karma are felt. That’s like Nakajima Miyuki; she shows us her indubitable persuasiveness, expressiveness, vocals and performance not in excess. Her career might mostly make that real.

The Heisei Era's twenty-third this year, it is like a blizzard which we lose our sight and feel so chilled now. Songs for people in Heisei like such a great blizzard seem to be packed in this album although From the Icy Reaches is the theme of a drama whose stage is in Showa Era.
