Although not to my private taste, I believe it is important sell well the pop rock bands like back number. Let me explain here what they are, for people who have no idea about them. They are a pop rock band which consists of three male persons from Gunma. Making their major debut in 2011, back number has kept getting more popular.
Well, they released their new original studio album “Chandelier” in 2015 December. It got the No. 1 on Oricon Weekly Chart, selling 173,000 copies a first week. Their last year’s work didn’t reach to 100,000 and then, I did not expect “Chandelier” was about to sell over 100,000 for the first week. I cannot deny that I guessed wrong.
Musical quality of back number has been improved a lot, therefore? I must say no. They are unchangingly singing about stereotyped thirsts and playing a rock band moderately. It looks like standing steadily on a line that extends from the last album.
“Stereotyped,” “moderately,” “steadily”… I believe the hit occurred because they have tightly kept those elements. Supplying pop songs of a certain quality, that pose must have called a lot of listeners. I trust that it is overly important.
Most of their supporters are supposed to be youngsters in 10s and 20s, who have been ridiculed as buying no CDs. However, this hit has become a proof that they duly purchase the records. It also means CDs, pop music, are still required if it includes the songs which people truly long for.
At the end of 2015, Cheers to “Chandelier” which shines on future of pops!
