Hello, everybody. Today, I'm mentioning about "Garakuta (Junk)," the 5th studio album of Kuwata Keisuke. The limited editions include his essays about the contained songs. It will almost bring you to the right place which tells what they are. So I don't talk about how the songs are because that can be nothing but a superfluity.
Then, what am I mentioning about? I am really trying to show a study of junk's value. Garakuta means Junk in Japanese. Why did he name the album Junk?
Kuwata Keisuke is a big fan of Paul McCartney. Listening to "オアシスと果樹園" lets you know how much he was influenced by Paul on melody making. Now, Paul has a song named "JUNK." It's pretty easy to consider he was somehow inspired by the song.
Moreover, Kuwata Keisuke is already an important person in the Japanese pops history. Then, he's recently been almost destined to produce major works. However, he's also just a musician. It's considered that he tried to release his songs more easily and dared to name "Garakuta."
Well, you may guess it includes nothing but meaningless songs for the title. But junk is truly useless? junk is needless? Meaningless? I think Kuwata put the question to us.
Let me skip to biology for a while. It's said that over 90 % of our DNA (Human Genome) are junk ones. To say correctly, we aren't wise to define what they are for yet. But it does not mean that our bodies are meaningless, you know. In old years, we seriously believed we would know everything about mankind by progress of the Human Genome Project. Things are not so simple, however.
"Garakuta" has been already somehow. Without thinking about the meaning and value, why not enjoy the songs easily? I believe Kuwata Keisuke proposed so with the 15 works.
