Hello. I am here mentioning about Kan's 2020 studio album "23 Years Old." Kan is a Japanese male singer-songwriter, but I suppose you must have heard nothing about him. Then first of all, I am explaining what he is.
His real name is Kimura Kan. He was born in 1962 Fukuoka, Kyushu, Japan. In his childhood, he began to learn playing piano. He debuted from Japan's Polydor in 1987. And he has constantly built his career until today. He's released 35 singles, 17 studio albums until 2020 December. What is most popular among his own songs? you may ask. It must be "愛は勝つ (Love Will Win)" that came out in 1990. No doubt about it. The single gradually became a hit from the end of 1990, sold over 2 million copies finally. Oricon Weekly Single Chart had it at the highest rank 8 weeks.
And you must wonder why Kan named his brand-new studio album 23 Years Old. Of course, he was not 23 years old in 2020. No one will think he is in the middle of his 20's, after taking a look at the photo. He is well-known, in fact, as the prime number lover. And it is his 17th studio album. Then, I suppose he desired to name it a prime number. I am unacquainted with him, don't know the truth.
What is Kan? I believe he is the best entertainer in the whole pop music field of Japan. I am not his big fan. I have seen him on rare occasions. And he always made me surprised, and smile. His highest priority must be entertaining you, I believe. Proof? He released his 35th single "ポップミュージック (Pop Music)" in 2020 February. The music video appeared on YouTube prior to the release in January. I happened to find it. And I got surprised, smiled.
Kan is the best entertainer in the whole pop music field of Japan. And he tries to treat you well with every song of his own. For instance, "君のマスクをはずしたい (I Would Like To Take Off Your Face Mask)" will take you to the hard rock wonderland like Bon Jovi. Music has no borders. But I suppose you must enjoy more if you get Japanese language.
