About our introductory articles

On Jan. 29, 2014, Kuroyume released their original album “Kuro to Kage” ( Black and Shade ) with a message which said “It may be the final one as an original album of Kuroyume.” And it consists of relationship of the two.

Kuroyume is Kiyoharu on vocal and Hitoki on bass. They made debut in 1994 and stopped in 1999. They got together and decided to take a concert for tearing Kuroyume up perfectly in 2009. But in 2011, they started it again in order to dedicate their songs to their late male friend though Kiyoharu said “Reunion of rock bands looks ugly like a goblin, and so I hate it.”

Kuroyume has changed their style every other album. In early years, they looked and sounded like Visual Kei. On “Corkscrew” released in 1998, just before they were stopped, Kuroyume showed us punk rock. But in 2011, Kuroyume played digital music on “Headache and Dub Reel Inch.”

They have fickly changed their color like a chameleon, which made a lot of their fans confused and leave Kuroyume. They pretended not to care about it and kept changing.

Kiyoharu kept taking the initiative and caused it. Hitoki confirmed to the direction and performed a part of Kuroyume. That is what Kuroyume was.

However, on “Kuro to Kage,” the two are on a level. Many years let them grown up and equal. Kuroyume plays the music from their relationship on “Kuro to Kage.”

Just like spirit in the time when they met and made a band at the first time, it seems like they never try to fix the image and their style within “Kuro to Kage.”

Kuro to Kage is, of course, from Kurotokage ( Black Lizard ) who appeared as a female robber in some novels written by Edogawa Ranpo. She hoped for only the beautiful things. The title must show their mind that wants to play just what is good.
