Matatabi, the word originally means wandering life of gamblers or entertainers. Like Matatabi that the album was named, it is not too much to say that songs on the album were made from tours Okuda Tamio had.

Okuda Tamio held a tour called“Matatabi”from July 1. 1997 to Sep. 25. 1997. Fuchu was the tour opener, and total 38 concerts were held on the touring. Moreover, he held a tour called“Matatabi Futatabi (it means Matatabi again)”from March 8. 1998 (the month when the album was released) to May 30. 1998. Total 40 live concerts were opened, Fuchu was chosen as the beginning place again. And from Oct. 1998, he opened“Hitori Matatabi”tour. 18 concerts were held. On the tour, he had played on the stage all alone.

The contents of songs on the album are in a free and easy style, full of humor as Yuigon or Matatabi (John To) and the like show. Made from touring, but the songs are not full of seriousness.

On the other hand, there are songs which groove trained in the touring can be felt like Tegami or Akumade Drive. The album was exactly born from touring and for the touring.
