About our introductory articles

Kamitonda-cho Nishimuro District, Wakayama is a town that about 15,000 men live in. It is in south of Wakayama and a place famous for production of Japanese apricots or gourds.

Sakamoto Fuyumi, a Japanese female enka singer, was born in 1967 and had lived in the town until her debut in 1987.She is well-known not only as a female enka singer but also as a great lover for her home, Wakayama. Recognized her love, she became an ambassador of Wakayama as home. Then“Okaeri ga Omamori (Welcome home is my charm)”is going to be released on 14 September, 2011. Her deep love for her home Wakayama is sung on the song.

"Okaeri ga Omamori"
From the beginning line“♪Yoku Kaettane. Gohan Dekiteruyo”(Glad to see you back. Your meal has already been ready.), lyrics politely and affectingly describe feelings of a main person that has been back home. The feeling is not just nostalgia. The person had left home and has gotten decent careers. And she thinks about her past and future…then home is seen somewhere in the thinking. There is a place to be backed home and there can be rooms to go on. The resolution will affectingly be listened.

Lyrics and music are written by Kawamura Yuka. She is a Japanese female musician famous as a composer of“Yozora no Mukou (Beyond the night sky)”(1998) by SMAP or“Subete no Ichinich wo Aishiteru (I love each day)”(2011) by Watanabe Misato. Fuyumi directly told Yuka her deep love for her home and Yuka wrote the song for Fuyumi.

Sakamoto Fuyumi is going to release her best album on 28 September, 2011 to mark her 25 years anniversary. But“Okaeri ga Omamori”is not going to be in the best album. That also says the song symbolizes her future not just looking back.
