All Songs Written by Shina Ringo
All Arranged by Kameda Seiji & Shina Ringo
Hello, everybody. Today I'm talking about "Shoso Strip." It is the 2nd studio album of Shina Ringo, released in 2000 March. Shoso means Winning Case in Japanese language. It sold over 2.5 million at the time, and ranked at the 3rd of the 2000 Oricon Annual Album Chart.

What on earth is Shina Ringo? you might ask. I am afraid she is almost unpopular overseas.

Shina Ringo is a Japanese female singer and songwriter who debuted in 1998. She has written and offered many songs for other singers (not just herself) like Puffy, Smap, Tokio, Sakamoto Maaya, and Hayashibara Megumi. So I suppose many Japanese people have heard her name even if they have never heard her sing.

In the end of the 20th century, she made her debut and Kameda Seiji arranged all her songs.

Kameda Seiji is a Japanese male popular music arranger and bassist born in 1964. He has arranged some songs of many popular musicians like Glay, Juju, Spitz, Hirai Ken, Hakahashi Yu, and Do As Infinity. And he has played bass for some of B'z and Porno Graffitti. In the early 21st century, they looked on him as a competent arranger, but not in the end of the 20th century. In 1990's, he was just a young bassist without any memorable achievements. One day, he happened to arrange some of Shina Ringo's. And they became remarkable hits in 1999. If he hadn't met her, he wouldn't have been so popular like today. And I can say Japanese popular music history would have changed to some extent.

"Shoso Strip" included her 3 singles, and sold most in her discography. It was a great achievement, doubtlessly. No doubt about it. I found another meaning of "Shoso Strip," however. I suppose "Shoso Strip" and Shina Ringo became so popular for raising Kameda Seiji to competent arranger. You may say I am just wise after the event, but I can't help thinking so.

Some may say I'm talking nonsense. I guess, however, intelligence makes us think of what's not here and there, what's found nowhere. We have not seen deities in reality, have we? But actually, we can believe in God, Allāh, Buddha, and others. With intelligence, men can think about what's not here and there. If Kameda Seiji hadn't met Shina Ringo... I think about the parallel world. And we can find another aspect.
