About our introductory articles

“Staggered” is a kind of Cherubim’s city cycle lineup. And it must extremely be useful when you want a classic city cycle.

In 1965, Kon-no Hitoshi began to build frames and it was the beginning of Cherubim. 2015 is going to be their 50th anniversary. Inside and outside, they have won a worldwide fame for such a long time. Hitoshi passed, and Kon-no Shin-ichi took over. The frame building spirit is, however, undying and succeeded rightly.

Cherubim were established in Machida-shi, Tokyo and then, they opened a branch in Aoyama in 2013 January. “Staggered” was made as a bicycle that suits for Aoyama.

As they won Best of Show at North American Handmade Bicycle Show 2012, they have got high valuation internationally. It is not so difficult to consider Cherubim will build high-class city cycles.

City cycles are created for people who casually ride, not who especially love bicycles or road races. How should they come up with Cherubim on their staggered cycles and how could they appeal to the casual? There are just high-class bicycles besides those points, and it is meaningless for Cherubim to build up “Staggered.”

One of their special features is they use lugs on “Staggered.” Lugs are used as a traditional way to combine bicycle frames for durability and nobody usually uses on staggered cycles, they say. Namely, what they have developed in long-time road bike making is suitably included in “Staggered,” you know.

It does not mean they aimlessly lay out their identity and it says Cherubim runs without any stint in the field of staggered cycles. Their special features come out just accordingly.

Cherubim’s “Staggered” is surely necessary when you hope for a city cycle of high quality, beauty, and riding comfort. That is rightly made from their experience and their soul.
